i'm going to be turning the big "40" in a few months and i wanted to buy something nice for myself (a new watch, of course 
...ref 5053R has been on/off my short-list... i love the simplicity of the dial, the practicality of have a date, and of course the pleasure of seeing the movement when flipping open the hinge-back...
i would appreciate any comments concerning this watch...thanks
