"swiss made" or not?

 

My fellow Purists,

 

Why does Patek still put "swiss made" or "swiss" on the dial?

To me it seems an abundant addition to a Patek. "less is more".

And it lacks because of that several minute markers and therefor visually an unpleasant interruption. "God is in the detail".

Further more it decreases the readibitlity of the time from 28 till 32 minutes past. "form follows function".

"email" instead of "swiss" on the dial to me is acceptable, although questionable, but "swiss made"?

The Patek seal took place for the geneva seal because Patek is so much more than the Geneva seal;

The Patek seal also includes the criteria of "swiss made".

Nowadays "automatic" is of the dial, so why not "swiss made"?

It could be requirement of the trade regulation in Swithzerland... If I recall correctly, the watch manufacture HAVE the right to put SWISS MADE title on the watch if at least 60% or 70% of the details and parts produced in Switzerland. Not sure about exa...

for export under Swiss watch federation rules is the understanding I have always heard.. Every watch made in Swiss has the stamp if it meets the purity standards Note most everything gives the country of manufacture, granted on removable stickers.
