A Patek Philippe a boat and a breeze of air!
By: Dje : June 19th, 2010-15:00
You may remember that I quite recently asked you: "What watch with these ones?", the question being illustrated with the picture below. It was there: patek.watchprosite.com -0/ My intent was obvious, especially if you know my current temptation for a Pate...
Wonderful, wonderful, wonderful !

Thank jou for this delicious post. Thinking about selling all my watches and buying a Riva. Yeah!
I am not amused....
By: NoMilkToday : June 20th, 2010-01:28
Just came off a conversation with a Riva salesperson and learned: the girl is not included. My fantasy is shot to peaces. I will live on without boat an with present girl and watches

Hi, But the girl/boy (keep the convenient) order sheet is delivered with the boat. Still take care you just get disposable toys with these order sheets.... Cheers Dje
Go for it!
By: Dje : June 22nd, 2010-13:42
Hi, Go for it, sell them all, but take care, vintage Riva runabouts are on the rise like for some watch brand I don't recall And service costs are, well, .....serious! Cheers Dje
For the Swan 90......5960p would be my choice.....
By: Miles151 : June 20th, 2010-01:22
As I would need an auto watch which will keep me informed as to what day, date, and month it was as well as if it was Am or Pm a 12 hour chrono.... oh and the time would be useful also The 5960p would look great on a wrist aboard that wonderful yacht........
Good choice....
By: MiniCooper : June 20th, 2010-04:06
However, which dial would you prefer? Blue or pewter? Cheers
Miles, I understand your reasoning.............
By: Topcat30093 : June 22nd, 2010-02:19
But I would hate to fall overboard, wearing either a 5960 or 70P!! Think of the misery that would bring. I think that I would have to wrap them up in a watertight case!! LOL Thanks Jerome for a lovely thread and gorgeous photos.
Thank you

Gorgeous photos of watches and boats (a nice change from automobiles). For some time, I had already been thinking about something you wrote in your post: "That's where the difference between boats and watches is though. Large boats are more exceptional, e...

Hi respo, Sure there are other fields in horology, like chronometry for instance, but as modern watches can easily be precise, size remains essential. Watches can also be reliable, but even some Rolex watches sometimes don't work. Large watches for the sa...

Nothing's missing here except for the right company to enjoy life with and a nice bottle of champagne. RIVA stands for the comfortable stylish boat, a fairly fast convertible boat for the times you are just trying to enjoy some pleasure cruising. It's lik...

If I had to associate a Patek watch to a Riva Boat
By: amanico : June 21st, 2010-14:03
It wouldn't be, like on the ad, the 5712, but the World Time. Why? Because both share this timeless beauty, this elegance which will stay stuck in our minds for an eternity. Both share this idea of a trip, and a great one. Both share this feeling of perfe...
I do agree !
