I am not sure about putting the bar in improperly as, from what I remember, it is smooth except in the middle where the screw goes in. Basically I was able to do it on my first try and there were no problems, so I am not sure about damaging the threading.

I agree with you about making the strap more "tropical" as the black look of the leather strap looks better in my opinion.

I also agree with you about the set position. I have a tendency to loosen and tighten straps on the go depending whether I feel the watch is tight or loose at that moment, which is something difficult to do with the 5711.

For Nautilus 5711 and 5712, brown for the rose and gray for the white. They come in addition to the leather straps, they're plain looking and water resistant. All gold Nautilus should have them by now.

is more on the functional and not the most beautiful. The concept is having a band for the strap models that cna be used in water. Your watch already could be used in water, so it is a little bit redundant. More interesting could be if you could get a lea...
