Absolutely love it

Your 96 is just perfect. Much more cool than a mint 96 NOS with no character.

I also like your Dauphine hands -  much prefer it than leaf hands (although the hands look like replacement or service hands).
The double signature is cool too but what I really love is the most is the engraving on the back.

I would buy this watch just for the engraving. What a great story.

Congratulations on a killer watch - Edmond

I've been swinging between the CPCP monopoussoir and the ref. 96 for the past few months. Then finally this came into my sight, a double labeled 96 retailed by Shreve, Crump & Low. It is a rather normal piece, the dial has been slightly cleaned: since the...

Vin, congratulations. The Ref 96 is certainly for connoisseurs.

Its 31 mm case is not everybody's taste and it is perfect. The Connoisseurs will enjoy it. It is a watch which is really charming, and its size contributes to that. I fell on several, and each time, it was with great pleasure. Here some specimens. ...

This is an example of pure passion. A unique watch, with an odd dial, and a journey back in time on its engraved back. What might have been the story? Where are these people now? A refreshing alternative to all the me-too 5711s and frying-pan-sized curren...

Gorgeous inscription.

Especially that "Betty". So much personality

True

Especially as normally people worry about engravings damaging the resale value of a watch. This one was bought out of passion, not to make a profit.

Profoundly true.

meaningful message engraved on the back! Your watch looks great on your wrist and fits in well with the dim sum dishes, both very tasty ! Cheers, Gordon

Great watch, with great engraving. Love the double signed dial, which I don't think was ever touched. Not all dials have the accented "e", as evidenced by this 1944 Patek with original dial: ...

And I can say that Shreve Crump & Lowe is one of my favorite. I have only seen one other SC&L, which is a ref 431 (PM me for details). I would of bought it but dial is refinished... Anyway, you did very well - the ref 96 may be polarizing but if y...
