Seems unlikely...
...as you know several people have bought the watch (including myself) under the assumption that it is a LE. It is a real stretch to think that they can make that change after they have sold a handful. My guess is that as part of the "settlement" with the Italian Navy, Panerai was asked to sell the watches in a "low profile" way. I believe the Navy has another licensee form the Marina Militare trademark and perhaps this compromise was reached?

This may have been discussed but now the 339 SE is officially gone from all sources and sites. Now they have managed to fixed even the iphone apps and 339 is already no longer an official SE for 2010. What's the real reason for this? Was it the MM logo is...

Cos the contract between PAM and ITALIAN GOV'T no longer exists and MM is the logo saved for Italian Marines and they can NO LONGER produce watches advertising that it is made for GOV'T use. Hence, they have to take out the whole watch for regulatory reas...
