Piaget Issue - Need Help
Hello everyone!
Here is some background of our issue. I am an avid hobbyist concerning Rolex watches but when it comes to any other brand I am very clueless. My friends uncle, knowing I work with watches, gave me his Piaget to get it sent in for a polish at my usual watchmaker. Before I give in the watch, I decided to do some research on the watch being the nerd that I am and I am coming up empty. My main concern is that I cannot locate this exact watch at all and is very disconcerting to me. Can anyone with expertise help me out on this one? I have provided some pictures below( I scrubbed out part of the serial for obvious reasons). It is pretty banged up and has some dirt (was not cleaned). He also tells me he doesn't have the box or papers either and this watch was given to him a long time ago.

That watch is a Dancer model.
White and yellow gold.
The watch was probably made in 1989 but the serial number should be complete to be sure of that.
Piaget ultra-thin quartz movement 8P.
There is nothing to add except the bracelet may be a bit "stretched".

The watch is actually in not working condition. I was unable to find any Piaget dancers that were in both white and yellow gold, which raised a red flag for me. Does everything seem ok with this watch? The serial number has 6 digits.

We cannot do appriasals of authenticity on-line.
I suggest you appproach a Piaget boutique that has access to their historical records to check the full serial number and specifications.
Piaget made many variants during that era and a bi-colour gold watch is not uncommon.

100% AUTHENTIC
This is a Piaget dancer with white gold and yellow gold. My father actually has the same exact watch. I had never seen another one until this day and it is 100% authentic. He actually sent it in to Piaget a couple of years ago to have it cleaned and the movement serviced something like $1,000 from them but it looks brand new and he still hasn't worn it since getting it serviced. It is rather common to see a solid white gold or yellow gold dancer, but the two tone dancer has to be really rare. My father got his about 10 years ago from a reputable watch dealer....
