Hi,
I have been unable to find a dual time that I really love. I've bought and then sold several. The PAM 88 was just too heavy, especially to travel with which is the whole point. The Patek was nice but just a bit too small (my everyday is an IWC Big Pilot). The FM Master Bankers have one time zone too many for me and are a bit fussy. I've just run across the Piaget Black Tie Emperador cushion and like the looks of it (although I have yet to see it in person). Nice mix of dressy and sporty. Simple dual time treatment, without other unnecessary complications. But I've always thought of Piaget as a flashy jewellery brand - overpriced for watches, much like Hermes. I would be very grateful for comments on the brand overall and on this timepiece in particular.
Thanks.
and came away extremely impressed with their work . Most people perceive Piaget to be a high jewellery brand much like Chopard and Cartier .
Due to their success in the jewelery arena , their watch making pedigree has been largely overlooked . They have a reputation for making fine and ultra thin watches and the Emperador Cushion is the most impressive piece to me in the current lineup . CEO Philippe Leopold-Metzger wears a rose gold version of the watch himself . I prefer the white gold version though . Watch is thin and cushion case sits well on wrist . Watch movement
is nicely decorated and everything abt the watch spells quality to me . I recommend it if you are looking for a nice dress watch that is both understated and elegant .

and look; not like most "me too" designs these days.
Hey, great hanging with you, buddy!

PIAGET has more than 130 years of continuous experience as a watchmaker first but the last 40 years as also a gem-setter on their own watches. This is because they bought about 3 jewelry factories in the 1960s.
Only in the last 10 years or so have they also had Piaget-brand jewelry; unfortunately they became TOO successful with their jewelry!
These guys made movements for all the famous names until after the 2nd World War, after which, they branded as Piaget. Those names included Audemars Piguet, Breguet, Cartier, Ebel, Longines, Omega, Rolex, Ulysse Nardin, Vacheron & Constantin, Vulcain, Wittnauer, Zenith.......etc
A PuristS on Tour report of our visit to PIAGET will come soon but meanwhile.....some sneak peeks.......

Ultra thin

Ultra cool

Dear fr,
You have the power to speak about Piaget as the community.
Then, we may have more interest. Does anyone know about their 9P and 12P movements?
I think they have very nice heritage and modern watches especially extra-thin mechanical movements and reliable haute horlogerie. They don't want the highest number of complications but the best slim movements with useful complications.
