Hublot Big Bang Unico vs Big Bang Ferrari comparison.

With exactly the same movement inside, there were exchanges of opinions whether "pedal" like chrono pusher is better than the new round-shape chrono pushers.

By looking at them side by side, you decide

First up:
Big Bang Unico 45mm King Gold
411.OX.1180.RX

Notice and remember the second hand dial on 9h.
Only the tip of the chrono second hand is painted red.








Relatively thick, but smoothly polished bezel side.




Column wheel is clearly visible from the front, exactly on 6h








Minutes train has just minute, nothing in between.




The rotor is tungsten, normal "shape".




Now, the pushers are, well, rounded, just like the crown which has "H" shaped top.








Very convenient strap "clutch" system for changing straps.












Size wise, I have no issue here....
















Made to look very sporty.
















Next up - Big Bang Ferrari 45mm, King Gold Carbon

Just a profile comparison:




"Pedal" like pushers may look "smooth" design.  Crown head is different, the side of the crown is also different.







Here is another difference - the bezel side has three layers so that it looks more like the "cylinder head".




... while this one looks totally "single layer".




And the rotor is made to look like the wheel spoke, which is of course a cool addition.  But the movement is exactly the same as Big Bang Unico above.




This is the pic of Big Bang Unico taken from the same angle.  Notice the different shilhouette from the back.



As a side note, those two are exactly the same price.



As a bonus, here comes Big Bang Ferrari All Black:

The "three layer" look of the side of the bezel is further enhanced by inserting red part.




...while King Gold Carbon "three layers" are all carbon.




Another point about Ferrari is this "red pointer" on the crown side - you screw it in ONLY 90 degrees.  This position means it is completely closed tight.




And by unscrewing (counter-clockwise) for 90 degrees, the crown is completely open.  The crown open/ close mechanism is the same as Big Bang Unico, but this makes it look much easier.




But one thing you may want to think - there is no "small second dial", instead the Prancing Pony is.




Now, back to Big Bang Unico again.




... and Big Bang Ferrari All Black....
































One minute is divided by four - this is more like it as a chronograph.








King gold carbon and All Black version.  All Black is really cool, if you are a Ferrari fan.

Exactly the same spec for both models.


While I prefer the pedal shape pusher because it feels like the real pedal move, it is so designed because it is "Ferrari" model.
"Three layers" Bezel side design is very interesting, too.
Divided minute train is more like it as a chronograph.

But "no second hand" may be something you may ponder....

Anyway, there will be a lot to come as Ferrari model and non-Ferrari model and both will entertain us!

The round pushers look huge but seem to work overall.  I also prefer the numerals.

... the round pusher feel is very smooth and works well.  Numerals, I am with you.
The plasticky thing - I didn't notice either...  Good eyes!

Overall, they are both well made, but clearly fans would divide - that's where it is interesting!

Not many people are lucky enough to see them side by side and they really are different watches with different characters.

.. if you are lucky, the boutique has interesting models on display and I got lucky that day.

For fun, I might go for All Black Ferrari...  Light, cool, and playful (although I am no owner of Ferrari )

As a Hublot diehard, I suspect each watch type will be in your collection ;-)

It is the new Big Bang Unico All Black. A stunning watch on all fronts and my favourite for the BB Unico range.

I like the Ferrari, but do not own a Ferrari so do not see the point in having one without the other.  A bit like the Parmigani Bugatti... love it (especially the supersport for the orange reason) but will never get one without the car... hence will never own the watch!

All is good this side of the Atlantic and hope the same is for you?

Black painted tip is very well coordinated...  I see your point of not owning Hublot Ferrari without owning a Ferrari

That is the nicest Hublot AB so far, IMO.

I think this version is much more clean and harmoniously designed.  I feel the all red Hublot chronograph seconds hand is distracting.  I much prefer the red tipped hand instead.

Btw, the Unico looks extremely comfortable in your wristshot picture!
