rather than cutting out the subdial to still display "28" and "30". May make the watch a little more clean and easier to read IMO.

the watches with luminous date display often 'expose' the next date coming up so it is 'charged' when it is time for it to shine. That seems a fair reason but then the exposure of the date already gone by (yesterday) does not make sense.
If the wearer can see today's date, he (or she) does not really need to see the date before and after today.
Generally, the date coming up is...er......+1 and the date that has passed is -1 from today's reference date.....right?

...the date is placed very discreet. But unfortunately there is no way to read the chrono minutes from 13...17. In my eyes there is to much focus on layout instead of function. On last years Ferrari Big Bang there were small indices and everything was ok...for my taste. But here...hmm. It reminds me to the Zenith Stratos where it is impossible to read the chrono minutes 16 ... 23.
But in general I like the BB Unico...especially the version with ceramic bezel very much and I had the pleasure to try it at Baselworld. But I've rumored that the Baselworld pieces are not at final design...maybe the "real" ones have a little improvement.
