Hublot

Not exactly every Sunday, but I try to do boutique hopping and shoot new or unique pieces to share them here.  Lighting at the boutique or AD is always far from ideal, so pardon the quality or color of them :-(

Please do not hesitate to post your Sunday shots with your Hublot!

This week is Aero Bang PG Tantalum - 301.PT.1180.RX - - but not sure it is Tantalum, it may be Tungsten - - does anyone know for sure?
LE of 500.

Very beautiful and heavy piece.  Rubber strap is very good for this season.

I think you're correct about the tantalum bezel

.. that it is Tantalum.  Very heavy metal and I like the weight.

That's some piece of work you got there. But seriously sweet... like it! 

tungsten has a knurled edge, tantalum is smooth.

The caseback ring does not look like titanium.  And the gasket under the bezel certainly is not ceramic.  Do you mean to imply the tantalum is perhaps formed over a piece of ceramic?  I thought the layer between the bezel and case middle is dubbed kevlar.  It is pliable, so I do not think it is ceramic.

Strange to me that Hublot would choose to etch the names of two materials that are not the two you see - gold and tantalum.

Don't know what I was thinking of....I apologise for my idiocity! I asked exactly the same question about a standard Big Bang "elsewhere" and copied the answer without engaging brain let alone looking at the back of the watch. Oops indeed

Then perhaps there's some sort of titanium cage inside the case? I don't think the bezel materials have ever been designated on the casebacks.

The AD has been telling me that the Hublot stock is thinning and really short supply these days - naturally, there was no Unico there....  I understand your fav for Unico (as I would), but no avail....  Perhaps the Boutique may have some, but the inventory level is getting dangerously low here, I heard.....

Let me share what I saw during my recent trips to Japan & Hong Kong. I saw more Hublots worn by people in Tokyo, my #1 favorite city in the world, than in HK. I think I only saw 1 wearing KP all black in an upscale mall.  Dunno why, but Hublot is contagious

"Hublot is contagious " - I can't agree more.  My AD says Hublot sells very well especially these days, in addition to lots of inquiry via phone or internet.  I would have thought that KP or even BB 44mm would be considered too big for the wrists of Japanese, but boy was I wrong
