Is it just that everyone is saving their energy and getting themselves ready for the Basel?   Is anyone here going?

Yes Mike... I do hope we have a chance to meet this time after your flu in Geneva in January!  I am around from Saturday morning through to Wednesday so have plenty of time.

The bookshelf on the floor (white woods) was NAILED on the wall on the right side - the power of the quake is to great.  I wish I could show you the mess in the kitchen and living room where, according to mother, most of the dishes flew around, a few paintings fell and damaged, a few wooden and porcelain sculpture/ dolls fell off and broken - but they were all mostly cleaned up by her by the time I came home (on foot) last night.

Oh, no....  Heh, better than not having place to sleep, right?

I am okay, by the way.  Mother is fine.  Sister and her family is fine, too.  But I hope for the best for those who suffered and those rescue workers to contain the damage.

That has always been part of the japanes culture and why I love so much the country and their people

I can't agree more with what Mr.Biver posted.

Japane is a trully exeptional nation. I believe othe countrys would have a much greater problem with this terrible dissaster.

Ken,  I am glad to hear you and your family are safe.  It seems terrible from what I have seen on the news and my mind goes to those poor people who have lost family members, loved ones and homes.
