a nice picture of my tropical 6536/1 with an unusual Riva strap... picture not taken by me...

Please, tell me one thing about the 6536 and 5508.

If I correctly understood, the 6536 and the 5508 share the same case, movement, dial and hands while the case back is a bit different, right?

Do you know which of the 2 ref was the less produced?

they have different movement (1030/1530), hence different dials, cases, etc...

I read your post, Jeff...;

And I was fascinated by it.

What I understood was that the 1030 was used on the early 5508, while the 1530 was used in the late 5508.

Butterfly or not butterfly, while the butterfly 1030 was only used in the 6536, right?

And if the movement ( 1030 ) was used in both references, are the dial and hands different on the 6536 and 5508?

I'm deeply falling in love with these crownguarless Subs!

the reference 5508 is the upgrade of the 6536/1 with the improved cal. 1530: this movement has a butterfly rotor in the late 1950's and then the full rotor that we are used to since the early 1960's.

Love the watch and the strap!  You and James Bond could be compatriots with your Subs!  I like these Riva straps very much, and think them handsome.  I'm putting one of my watches on one!
