IWC

hi guys , we recently had a watchmaking class here in auckland care of IWC. The night entailed disassembling a movement and then putting it back together again under the supervision of an IWC watchmaker based here in NZ  , afterwards dinner and drinks were devoured where we talked about our lack of ability in being future watchmakers. It was a really enjoyable evening which really opened my eyes to the day in day out difficulties a watchmaker faces every day, many thanks to my AD and also to Edwin from IWC

Congratulations, as you were brave enough to try, while I didn't have this bravery, I must say.

Or maybe is it due to my total lack of patience?

So, isn't that kind of experience which allows you to better appreciate your beloved tic tacs?

my movement had more hits than elvis by the end of the evening not to mention the number of screws that i lost on the floor, apparently what doesn't kill you only makes you stronger they say?

I would love to do that one day. The location looked splendid and the menu very appitizing.

I was lucky to be invited by IWC and my AD to a similar event in August this year. Great  that IWC is doing this type of events. Here is the link to the event I posted earlier this year IWC Watchmaking Masterclass and Dinner. I wonder why all the Richemont watchmakers in Australia and New Zealand have the name Edwin LOL. Not easy for sure. Thanks for sharing. It is one event that for me , the high light for me this year.

not sure how i missed your report but it puts mine to shame , i see the common thread with the edwin's. My fav watch from the collection would probably be the porto minute repeater.
