IWC

TonyR started a thread below asking for your favourite IWC. Here are several favourites from several collectors.

A few weeks ago IWC hosted several collectors at its boutique and they naturally brought along their IWCs. The result was a remarkable gathering of IWC watches, both old and new, demonstrating the wonderful history of IWC.

(A note of thanks to Eddie who initiated this as well as the team at IWC, as well as to Dirk who helped with some of the identification.)

 

Beginning with the vintage and discontinued watches:

Mark XV with the uncommon white dial

A smaller 34mm relative of the Portuguese, cal. 83 c. 1946

The small automatic Portuguese in gold and also in steel, c. 1998 approximately

A pair of a pair of Portuguese Jubilee and cal. 5000 in rose gold

A cal. 89, c. 1950s

Another vintage piece c. 1970s

A steel pocket watch with cal. 67, c. 1936

The GST Aquatimer

The Aquatimer c. 1970s with 'supercompressor' case

An Ocean 2000, c. 1982

Mark XI, RAF issue

The Mark XI, XII and XV - bigger is not better, it's just newer

Fliegerchronograph meca-quartz

Ingenieur, reference 666A, calibre 852, from 1966

And a later quartz model from the late 70s or 80s

The 3227 Ingenieur

The ceramic Ingenieur in the foreground

And then the modern ones:

The current Aquatimers

The current blue and yellow Aquatimer Cousteau and its immediate predecessor in blue and orange

The new Big Ingenieur along with the 3227

I seached but didn't find any Ref 812, the mother of all Aquatimers, nor Deep One, more modern...

The Triple 6 Ingenieur is a pure marvel as well as some of the Portuguese you posted, SJX.

Without forgetting the Ocean 2000 Bunde...Original,, strong and very charming.

I wish they would give us this one back. I find the ceramic bezel versions not to my taste and the new "giant" Ingy's don't do much for me either. The 3227 was the best of the bunch in terms of the evolution of its style and sizing, IMO. Why they would stop that one is beyond me.
