Officine Panerai

The event wasn't just a great time, but it provided the motivation to rejoin the Paneristi. I stopped by the boutique earlier today and picked up a piece I have had my eye on for a while now: A PAM 337. Sorry about the quality of this photo. It is just a quick wrist shot. When I have the time I'll have to take some better ones.

While I have always liked Panerai I find that many of their models are just too large for my taste which I why I ended up selling my PAM 219. While I loved the design of it, I didn't love it when it was on my wrist. At 42mm the 337 is right in my preferred size range. I also like its' relative thinness.

I knew you were going to do this!  I just knew it. 

You mentioned it with so much veracity, yet casual-ness last night as we were all departing that you wanted such a 42mm dressier Panerai watch.

It was good seeing you. I'm always glad that you are able to make it down from the bay area for events. Yeah, when we were talking I was pretty sure that I was going to do it. I have been interested in the 337 since it was introduced but just hadn't pulled the trigger yet as I thought it was a regular production model that would be available for a while. When I was informed that it was being discontinued my hand was forced. I figured I was just going to stop by the boutique and put a deposit down but was pleasantly surprised that they had one in stock. There is something to be said for instant gratification!

I think I need to reconsider that G, I don't imagine it getting much better than 7 in town.  

I might be getting a little bit better milage, but I really do love the acceleration so I tend to be a bit heavy on the accelerator. Of course by better milage I am referring to 9 MPG.......

love it..yeah but THAT instant gratification is just too good to give up...despite the MPG

I have to admit that the new 42mm Luminors also caught my eye, but In the end the 337 was the right choice for me. When they do a 42mm Luminor with a manual wind movement I may be in trouble.....

Hi Patrick,
It's odd, I have a different thought about the PAM438 than what Anthony had posted.  I thought the 438 was quite heavy, similar to a all steel Breitling Bentley.  So to me it felt much heftier than I expected. 
I personally prefer the look of the PAM441 with a regular strap but have to admit that the ceramic bracelet on the 438 was pretty cool too.
