Hi, I am  very proud to have just picked up a limited Pam 215 OOR. In reading the manual I am a little confused by the opration of the chrono...the manual recommends opening the lever in order to make it easier to operate the push piece for the start and stop function. Are the push pieces integrated with the operation of the lever?  Is it safe to operater the push pieces without opening the lever? I tried working it both ways and do not see the need to open the lever. Your advise will be greatly appreciated, I don't want to screw up anything! Thanks.
