The flipside...
....to that is that learning for its own sake is usually no path to extreme wealth.
Education may not lead to massive bank accounts, but I have little doubt that a lack of it (particularly basic literacy and numeracy) is a path to penury. (But of course, in the context of this thread, the 'education' in question refers to Tertiary)
I think Finance literacy and understanding how $ works is impt. That is not taught in
school though, which is a pity.

If you have $3k, don't buy Lange. Don't even borrow to buy it. But of course this thinking is not 'current' anymore.

Since I just watched the movie The Social Network, Zuckerberg comes to mind. Those guys all got into Harvard so I guess they are well educated enough.

Harvard is more about networking than education
It's hard to get into, but not necessarily a better school for actual learning.
It's a battle to get into ivy league so I get the network would have it's old boys club
benefits. So have we here in PPro!

Interesting you pointed this out. It seems that the richer Tech guys drop out of Grad
school to pursue their dreams and made it big.
Founders of Microsoft, Apple, Dell are along that path.

Education is very important to improve yourself, as people says knowledge is power and it is true.
you can use your knowledge to make money and grab the opportunity while others not aware of.
thats what I have learned during my college time, and i still want to pursue higher education, If i have chance.
for my self esteem, i suppose.
this does not guarantee to be rich, as the only key to be rich is just SAVING.

As a professor...
I can tell you that very, very few of us are on the list of millionaires. However, most of us really enjoy what we do.
Luck and keep on learning
and most important be good to your networking not to step others toe or worst the head as high ambition lead to greed.
