nice all original vintage watch !

it looks to be in uncommonly good condition. if its a replacement insert i'd like to know where it came from. alternatively i'd really like my numerals redone, but unless its perfect it will look rubbish. perhaps best to leave it original.
its also really good to see a 165.014 with the same dial and hands as mine. you dont often see them in this configuration so its nice to have confirmation in another that they are correct.

do you know if the style of sweep second hand that I have adapted on my watch was ever used by Omega on SM 300 and Speedmasters ?
Cheers
Jeff
we all know it was used on the SM300, but there is a question on whether it was ever officially used on the speedy. there are some pics and owners like Jeff with lollipops on their 2998's, but none of what i would consider the definitive ref books like the time capsule show it or mention its use officially. Chuck's site makes no mention of it either.
i can see no evidence that it was ever put on a speedy at the factory, but i may well be wrong. please tell us the answer, we need to know
