GP Vintage 1945 – reference 2593

Friends,

Not long ago I had the chance to see the Vintage 1945 reference 2593. Time only, with a very nice with black dial.




What hit me was how small it looked/felt (28.50 x 28.50 mm, 43 mm lug to lug).

Guess I got used to the XXL size by now…




On the wrist, looks very nice, feels good, but I would prefer it on a leather strap…




Between this one and the XXL – I must confess that I prefer the XXL case!

This is a very beautiful, elegant, discrete watch. The XXL fit in on the first two statements but not the third…!

Yes, some of the elegance is lost on the XXL, but I think it is still a very elegant watch!

The sweet spot would be somewhere inbetween the previous and the XXL case, IMO.

is a wonderful watch, simple, elegant and sophisticated with its curves. There are a number of big points for this model:
- No Date (haha)
- Solid case back
- A very affordable entry into GP
- Versatile, lots of different dial and strap combos available

The size is normal, I agree with Nicolas. In fact, with all those huge watches now in fashion, it displays special taste and being a square shape, the size looks big enough.

I guess the only Vintage 45 from that time that tops the 2593 is the original 2595 re-edition with the manual wind movement.

Here is my 2593 with black dial but different style.
