Friends,
Yesterday Casey mentioned he likes both date and small seconds at nine, so of course I like to show him one of the current offerings from GP!
Reference 49543
This one has the bigger size, 41 mm Pink Gold case.
The 41 mm is also a bit thicker, 10.01 mm.
Inside is the GP1890-0003 automatic movement.
Interesting is that this movement has longer power reserve (min 54 hours) compared with the central seconds movement (min 46 hours).
I must say I like the nine o’clock position of the seconds, but personally I prefer the 38 mm case.
More elegant, IMO.
BTW, this one has the alligator strap with straps with rolled edges Bill was talking about yesterday.
So, what do you think?

The cream dial is easier to match, but this one really stands out!
As for size, yes - have come to the exact same conclusion...

and reminds me that I do like small seconds at 9...
I tend to agree with you that 41 might be a tad large depending on the individual, and in this case the crown seems a little more substantial than on a smaller version (e.g. 37/38)... the one possible drawback of the smaller watch is when it comes time to set the time/date with larger fingers ;-).
Lovely example.

Yes, the smaller size have a smaller crown, but due to the case shape it is no trouble to operate the crown even on the smaller one!
Will explain in my final review of the GP 1966.

But before you put it in the safe - please share some shots with us here!
Honestly, I think it would be a shame not to use such a wonderful watch!
