In the absence of a photo...

I had one that sounds very similar, but it is not longer in my possession and I don't have a photo. It is a reasonable man's size for the era, fairly thin, with a fixed and somewhat rigid steel band (I had trouble getting it to conform to a small wrist.) It was inscribed with a date of 1974. It is a nice looking watch with a reliable manual wind movement that can be repaired by any competent local watchmaker. GP steel watches of that period were good quality but not luxury. With out a photo, especially a movement photo, we can't really help any further.
