Girard Perregaux

Hi,

I bought a ladies GP on ebay last year from a reseller.They didn't have any info on it and not being a collector or expert I bought it just because I knew that GPs were quality plus I just really liked the look.  I have looked at various sites and have never seen another one like it. Can anyone tell me anything about it? Year, original price, value today for insurance etc? A GP rep. I spoke with at the Monteray Historics in 2005 told me that the face appeared to be lapis lazuli dusted with silver but couldn't tell me anything more. On her recommendation I even contacted the factory and all that they could tell me (because they said had no records remaining ) was that it was circa 1970. It is a manual wind with a stainless steel band and case.  Thank you

GP did a lot of "stylish" pieces in the 1960´s and 1970´s, most of them reflecting current design trends then.
Almost all of them are using outsourced movements and used to list for $50 to $300, so it´s been a different ballgame of what the brand is doing today. Only few models came with dedicated model names, so it´s pretty much one of many (hundreds) of models during those decades.

The value is reflected by what you paid for it, which is probably not comparable to a current production piece in any way.
