Friends,
This year, the late 80ies and the 7000 series has been a real discovery for me. First I found a Sea Hawk 7100 (haven’t shown that yet, still in service) and then a double take on the 7000 Chronograph.
Now I was able to fill another gap, the Traveller 7000, Reference 7200. This is a classic GMT watch with a 24hr arrow and rotating bezel.
Not much information is available. The case is 40mm and a bit flatter than the Chronograph. Crown guards, same as on the Sea Hawk and a round crown (not very practicable for winding). Inside is the ETA Caliber based 2200. Lugs are 20mm.
There have been as usual a few different metal, dial and bezel versions. I have the below two photos from a 1991 book.
There was also a blue dial with Pepsi bezel available. Mine has a black dial with gold hands and indices and luminous 6,9,12 numerals. Date windows at 3, thankfully no loupe. The bezel is polished steel with the “Day” hours engraved in Roman and the “Night” hours engraved in Latin numbers.
I have to say, those are probably underappreciated but I really like the look of them. They have a vintage feel to it but combine that with modern size and top quality feel.
Finally, some wrist impressions.
