one watch we don't discuss that often here is the 1966 Chronograph, the 1st Generation without date and automatic movement.
I had the pleasure to try on the white gold version recently and it's perfect for my wrist. I do want to see the blue in real as well, but currently the white gold, white dial is one of my favs of all GPs.

That's a super watch. Silver or white, it is sublime.
A solid case back would have been a better choice, IMO, but as it is I love it.
Remember Blomman's post? Put a tantalum case back, and a black dial, or navy blue, plus a manual winding movement and we have a bomb.

but, I would not change the dial or the case material. I think white gold is perfect for this chrono and I actually like the charm of the two close-together subdials.

I do like this Chrono dial layout, including the more central subcounters.. For me a clean, yet elegant piece.. :))

Probably true, the blue-scaled, & blued hands
version ( guess, here these are black) sounds promising.
As so many times with subtleties, the true test is in the real;

Yes, this one is hard to get out of your mind. The blue dial is extremely nice, but probably less versatile.
Here is a shot of the blue dial I have to credit to somebody unknown.

Blue dial chrono
Today, I had a chance to handle the blue dial in real during my travels in Dubai. Readability is very good, no issue with that. However, I must confess that for me the white dial is more attractive after having played with both. The white printing on the blue dial is a bit too pronounced and over-powering in real, so that it takes too much attention away from the blue sunburst dial.
This is a watch that I could not like when I first saw it.
The dial seemed crowded, and pushed into the middle by the shear scale (intended) of the Tachy scale. But seeing it here today makes me wish I could see it in the metal once again. What I initially took to be an overcrowded dial is now appearing to me to be an attractive idiosyncrasy. Just a slight difference from most scaled-dial chronographs. The silver/white dial has much going for it but the blue is very eye-catching. It's always good to take a second look at things, after some time has passed.
very often, designs that grow slowly on you
will last longer. Glad to inspire you for a second look.
