Last week, by the gracious invation of the Chopard Boutique in Mexico City, and a whole lot of luck, I got the opportunity to attend a private dinner and viewing of Chopard's 150th Anniversary collection for this ongoing year 2010.
The event took place in a private dining room at the Four Seasons Hotel (where SIAR was being held), where approximately 12 L.U.C. enthusiasts got to overindulge our senses thanks to the presence of the five main new creations by Chopard. The All-in-One, the Engine One Tourbillon, the 1937, Louis-Ulysse The Tribute, and finally the Carbon Tourbillon Tech Twist, which although it is not presenting a new movement, as the previous four, it is presenting a new carbon case.
This dinner was also a great opportunity to meet the new international ambassador for L.U.C., Mr. Boris Othenin-Girard, who has taken the place of Mr. Patrick Wehrli, who has relocated to warmer waters and new responsabilities within Chopard. At this point I would like to wish Patrick the best of success in his new endeavor, and express to him my gratitude for sharing his passion for L.U.C and watchmaking in general.
Boris is also a great guy, and surely one who will continue to pass on the enduring values of a great manufacture, which to my eyes, L.U.C. is. I am sure most of you sooner than later will get the opportunity to meet him, and realize what a cool guy he is.
Anyways, let's check out the pictures! (Do please excuse me, as lighting was not the best and this was what I could achieve with my point and shoot and my shaky pulse
)

The Lunar One on the wrist of a fellow L.U.C. enthusiast.
I hope all of you enjoyed this brief report of a wonderful evening.
Many thanks to Chopard, Boris, Alejandro, and Sheila for the marvelous opportunity and for having shared your time with all of us who attended.
Best regards to all,
Alex
Thanks for sharing the appearance of Chopard LUC 2010 novelties from MEX.
I note that the All-in-One won Watch of the Year 2010 from a Mexican magazine.
Regards,
MTF

Pretty bold statement from Boris, actually, but you have to handed it to him for taking it to the next level.
If I ever find out, I will certainly share with all of you.
Have a great weekend,
Alex

Hola, Daos!
How's the Spanish coming along?
The Tech Regulator is very special, but do not disregard the Lunar One if you would be willing to enter the L.U.C. world at that high of a level. The Strike One is also a very interesting option which I am sure you would enjoy, considering your afinity to music and architecture.
Like you, I too feel it is only a matter of time before I get to own my first L.U.C, and hopefully not my last!
Funny, but I already know which one to get first, and which to get afterwards
Ooh this passion of ours....
Looking forward on toasting with several rounds of martinis soon!
Enjoy the weekend,
Alex
