Of course, I prefer the movement in the XPS. But it’s also has a thinner bezel and case thickness! Enjoy!πŸ₯‚

The XPS is definitely a wonderful variant and the love it gets is really well deserved.

I find I have to add a link when I'm in the hot and humid summers of The Big Mikan!

But for you a watch which is not colored gold? 😱😁

I know it might sound a bit silly,

 By: quattro : July 3rd, 2025-20:48
but for me this watch is mostly a summer or tool watch, so steel is ok.
That said, I still miss some of the warmth of colored metals, reason why I've been really attracted to the bronze BB58 during my visit to Barcelona.
But I didn't pull the trigger because: 1) I like the fit and design of my Alpine Eagle very much (and what's the point of having it if I don't wear it?); 2) the bronze case and bracelet are destined to tarnish quickly, whereas the dial, hands and even bezel are, on the contrary, destined to remain almost unchanged for a long time (at least, I'm a little worried about this potential discrepancy).

That makes sense πŸ˜ŠπŸ‘πŸ»

I might be one of the few here who most certainly doesn’t enjoy the patina that bronze watches acquire πŸ˜ŠπŸ€·πŸ»β€β™‚οΈ

Yes, it's a very special, rather dark or greyish, patina.

I personally don't dislike it: it's just the contrast with a pristine chocolate dial that I fear might not be completely appealing.
Other than that, the presence on the wrist is warm and really attractive for me.

Your AE in grey dial looks fantastic.

I also don’t mind the date at all. Actually I appreciate it as a feature on a watch as long as it’s implanted nicely. Only time I don’t like it is when a movement is fitting into a too-large case and the date is squished in the middle. Some IWC pilot watches come to mind.

In Tokyo it’s hot but nothing like what’s happening in Europe.

Thank you for this nice Tokyo sky-scraper wrist shot, loujo.

Well this one is not uncomfortable at all, at least on my wrist.

It was only because of the heat:

 By: quattro : July 4th, 2025-08:37
it was so hot that taking the watch off the wrist was a relief...
But apart from that, this watch is a perfect fit for my wrist too!

Ah yes, I see!
