I finally got my first Blancpain. My last 3 watch additions have been Glashutte Originals, but I just couldn't resist adding this one. I had always had a sweet spot for the Blancpain flyback grande date, but once I saw the Peking to Paris version and compared it side-by-side with the original, I was just drawn to the Peking to Paris red version. I usually don't go for commemorative watches, but the more I learned about the race, the more the watch drew me in. At first, I felt the rotor looked somewhat "loud" but when I realized it was the logo for the race, then to me it was the appropriate rotor for this watch.
I believe this is a new type deployant clasp which looks like a tang buckle from the outside (completely different from the regular flyback grande date's deployant clasp).
Thanks for looking!
This BP has something, indeed..The Red touches around the numbers enhance the dial, and even if it may look strange with this Logo, as you said, this is a commemorative watch, reative to a great Story, so why not such a décoration?
Nice catch!
Best.
Nicolas
Never seen this model, but have to admit it's a beauty, enjoy it.
Cheers,

Thanks for all the kind comments, everyone!
PeterZ- I haven't seen the program on TV. All I have seen is what I can find on youtube or google video. That race looks incredible! I believe another one is coming in 2010.
Jerryuk- From the looks of it, I believe the new clasp would fit a conventional "buckle" strap, but I'm not sure, as I do not do any strap changes myself. I lack that important skill.
How could I forget to post pictures of the box itself? It is really quite stunning, IMHO. Without further ado, here are some more pictures:
Thanks for looking!
First time i put my eyes on this watch, while reading a motorsport magazine, it inmediately seized my attention. Really really a fine and beautiful adquisition, good luck and hope you enjoy it.
