AP wins lawsuit against Swiss Watch International
Audemars Piguet has won a lawsuit against a company which knocked of the vaunted Royal Oak watch design. I think it is smart business for AP to stand up to such blatant cloning of their products. Hopefully the outcome will deter others from trying.

Interesting, but we have to wait for the appeal's outcome ...
... to draw any conclusions on further perspectives. it is also noteworthy that AP chose a NY court. Apparently, they saw better chances for their case there than in Europe or Asia, where most of the design copies are produced.
My personal pet peeve are design companies like Hilfiger, who are the first to loudly whine about the evil counterfeiters, but at the same time sell fashion accessories, aka watches with stolen designs:
Even the mechanics are faking a chronograph, but are simple calendar indiactions advanced by the pushers, which is a typical "feature" of various Chinese-made movements.

AP went after Hilfiger already
AP sued TH last year, and I think a settlement was reached in that case as well.
These are bold steps for AP that will establish a proper precedent for future wrongdoings.
AP should try to seek remedy in Malaysia.
There are thousands of fake watches (including AP) sold at open air night market in Kuala Lumpur.
I wonder why AP is keeping silent here.
