Hello Friends,
I just wanted to share a clock we not often see here: Petite Neuchâteloise.

What separates this one from other clocks is that this one is not an alarm clock with an alarm.
This clock is more of a music box, when the alarm goes off it plays a little tune!

Painted Roman numerals and gilded Louis XV hands.

Lacquered case.

With painted floral decor.

Two tones music alarm, circa 1950.
Here are a couple of other versions I found in a catalogue, I have also seen it in blue.
Anybody seen any other versions?

Branded JAEGER, with a 2 days movement.

Speaking of JAEGER, have you ever seen a sticker like this?

The text is in Swedish and if you translate it word by word it says:
“One eye on the engine”.
But my guess is that the meaning is more in the spirit of:
“One eye on the motor” as in motor vehicle or cars.
As we know Jaeger did a lot of car/aeroplane clocks and tachometers.
It’s made in the Nederland and marked on the back:
FasCal Fasson Leiden Holland Vinyl S-277.

Anybody knows when JLC stopped branding themselves as JAEGER?
It would be interesting to know from which year the sticker is…

The 70ies, early 80ies, Blomman.
As for the clock you show here, the Small Neucateloise, I didn't even know its existence...
JLC is a nightmare for the collectors: Each time you think you know, you just realize you know nothing.
But how passinoate it is.
As for your sticker, it is another great find, my friend.
All the best.
Nicolas.

As late as 70ies, late 80ies?!
Did not know that!
Thank you, my friend!

Very interesting!
I don’t read French, but was the name change only for the French part of JLC?
As I know you like old ads – here is one from 1932 where JAEGER and LeCoultre has their own logos side by side.

I thought of that too…
Stunning then – stunning now!
Talk about timeless…

But having trouble finding time to write…
I was thinking about preparing a post about vintage ads, but then I revisited Marv’s fantastic post and realized my collection is just a small echo in comparison…
Maybe in a few years when I have collected some more I will comeback to this topic…
Thank you, HS!

this picture of the rose with white (lacquer?) dial is proof-positive (for me, at least) that the ostrich strap with white stitch (to match the dial) is THE WAY TO GO on the TT rose.

Otherwise I would play it for you!
It sounds as an old music box, but each time I play it, it becomes a bit better sound.
Maybe it hasn’t been used for a long time and need to get in gear…
Thank you, Davo!

Unfortunately I missed a blue one not long ago…
That would have been a nice colourful pair!
Thank you, J !
