But my intention was not to draw focus from the Duometre à Quantième Lunaire!
Just as a comment to HS’s post…
... Sorry…
Will post something about Dark Knights in a separate post.

Love to see them all lined up.

As I previously said ( and I think it won't be the last time I will say it ), the Duometres, in my opinion are among the nicest offers from JLC.
One of, if not MY, favourite JLC family.
Best,
Nicolas.
My only problem is that you will get many Memos for the price of one Duometre…
My stomach can’t take any more noodles..!

Let's see how...
You keep the fundamentals, you sell the rest, you find the funds, and you jump on the Duometre.
Simple plan, isn't it?
Best,
Nicolas.
Both last year and this year.
You are right in pointing out several points, such as the global economy's state, the premium for Platinum, which causes the already minority who is able to afford such pieces to diminish even further.
But i find that it is in times such as these that Platinum is still and has always been the most perfect choice. For those who can, they should pull on it as much as funds and passion allows.
Because Platinum is still that pure, rare and eternal, and the beauty never fades even if it's surroundings do.
Objects in it, especially watches, lasts forever.
And Platinum is the only metal that marriages both the ultimate in sophisticated elegance values and understatement.
Merci beaucoup for this journal.
Stephen
The Duometre à Chronographe, which is available in platinum since 2008.
And if you want a platinum watch from the 2011 collection, the MGT Tourbillon is for you.
Nonetheless, I agree with you that I would be pleased to see more platinum watches among the JLC novelties, but I'm not in charge of the retail.
Best,
Nicolas.
( is that how you spell it? )
But the MGT 43 is remontage automatique!!
How dreadful to even think of it!
Alas, nothing for me. Yes the chronograph is nice, i still get to see it here and there during my travels, but i'd like to see something totally new, well no rush for me as i'v got my hands aplenty on novelties already, maybe next year will be a kinder year from JLC towards me?
A bientot
Stephen
It may be one of the most original chrono conception!
The grained dial of the pt version is awesome, and if you're in search of a certain exclusivity, go for the Boutique Edition, with its uniqe white dial.
Next year?
Yes, my guess is that there will be something for you. Well, I'm praying to see a certain watch in platinum. Let's see if I'm connected with JLC God.
Best,
Nicolas.
This message has been edited by amanico on 2011-04-27 22:53:51Although i think i'm reading that the use is obsolete in France already?
The concept of the Duometre is very unique i will agree, but i think it's not what i am looking for exactly.
Well, i do wish to own more JLC, but for JLC when i think of it, i think that i can only do Platinum.
So next year then.
A beintot!

I realize I've just noticed that its dial doesn't have the 2 "windows" through the dial behind the 2 power reserve hands (as for the pink gold version).
What I find most stunning is the contrast between the black dial and the all blue tone moonphase disk, different from the pink gold version again.
Thanks !
Cordially,
Mark
The WG is so different than the colored gold versions, now.
Thanks for your input, Mark.
Best,
Nicolas;
and I held off on this post as I love the QL (just not the Foudroyante) and wanted a quiet moment to enjoy the post and the photos.
Having seen it in January along with the Chrono, its a great piece and a lot of bang for the buck.
Thanks for the background info as well and the brief history.
Phil
Many thanks for sharing Nicolas, hope to get even more information about this Beauty going forward!
Today my AD received his first WG version so I had pay him a visit... attached some extremely lousy pictures taken by my mobile (sorry, not a iPhone user).
The WG version is THE Duometre in my opinion. Somehow, the inner beauty has never been as nicely reflected on the dial and case as it happens with this model. Please correct me, but I think a fair part of it is thanks to the very rarely used anti reflective coating by JLC. Yes, we get some blueish/ violet coloring on the glass, but this goes perfectly with the unbelievably matt black dial (are there some STEALTH features!?) which seems to absorb all light and the beautiful blue on the moon phase! This must the reason why the dial looks so 'sharp' and 3D. I don't think any other JLC model has had such a glass treatment.
Furthermore, interesting aspect is that it comes with a great looking pin buckle although I prefer usually a folding clasp. Another interesting point is how the color of the dial makes the watch looks smaller than the almost identically sized watch next to it...
In short, this is one of the most beautiful watches I've ever seen...

Here is a more detailed post on the Duometre à Q.L:
jlc.watchprosite.com seems that the black dial makes a big difference on our appreciation of the Duometre à Q.L. Not that the colored gold versions were not to love, but a white metal Duometre à Q.L was missing since the beginning, IMO. A Masterpiece! Best, Nicolas;
