I often get asked this question by my friends each time they see me with a JLC watch. 

I have given them numerous reasons but today as i look at the JLC on my wrist - i think I know why.

There are watches ....  and there are watches... the beauty of a Reverso is something to behold.

I love the GT size and I love them in strap.  I also love them because they are manual wind and as elegant on and off the wrist.

This Reverso Geographique is a perfect summary of these reasons, W 72.

Since 1931, the Reverso can be seen as an iconic, timeless watch, with perfect proportions, a subtle balance, and an undisputable class.

The same can be said about some of their Round Watches, such as the Géophysic, the Memovox, the MUT, and the more modern Duo Metre.

Bigger in volume, some holy monsters can express our love ofr JLC, such as the Gyro I, the MMR, or the latest Master Grande Tradition.

Each of us will have his own reasons to love the Grande Maison Production, with such an impressive diversity.

Personally, I love JLC for its timeless and iconic production, but also for its diversity in the horological production, mixing Tradition and Innovation, offering us some captivating and original watches, and for this almost perpetual link between Past and Present.

In my opinion there is no other manufacturer that comes close to JLC when you view the brand as a whole - their heritage, values, approach to watchmaking and especially their entire line-up of watches which appeals to me no matter the series (reverso, grande comp., master control, amvox....). No other manufacturer can compare in terms of personal appeal of their products, I can honestly say that I very, very much like every single watch JLC produces, some of them extraordinarily, some just a little bit less, but the bottom line is I would be an extremely happy person to wear any of their magnificent timepieces on my wrist. When I think of other manufacturers I would only  choose 2 or 3 products max from their entire offering that I really like, so in this regard JLC reigns supreme.

I do agree with all the reasons that have been said by Nicolas, Amvox and Jatg…

 

It’s a simple question to ask, and I think the answer is very clear to the one who knows JLC.

 

But it’s actually not that simple to explain to someone that’s not familiar with JLC or even worse if the person isn’t in to watches.

Then to explain something that’s so obvious for you may take awhile.

Especially if you try to explain the feelings involved…
