Dear Purists
Would anyone be able to tell me in the Master Calendar, it does not work like the Patek annual calendar? you still have to adjust the day every month. The annual calenday was invented by Patek and can only be found in their watches.
Thanks.
Thanks a lot.
So I see a lot of brands have perpetual calendar but is annual calendar only in Patek watches? I heard that perpetual calendar is very troublesome to set everything while annual calendar is much easier and is much more suitable for everyday wear, any comments on this? I do not own any complicated watches but am interested to find out more if it is worth the extra money. It seems like that these watches for sure will have a larger chance of breaking down than simple watches and repairs and maintenance should be costly. Hence, the lesser you wear it (or keep in winder), the lesser maintenance you need and the lesser wear and tear there will be. Then, why do you need perpetual or annual calendar in the first place? You need to set it every time you want to wear it anyway.
Regards
Ivan
when a cheap quartz wil do a better job at telling time and so much less troublesome.. but also so much less involving and so much less to love and admire... just me though.
I'll leave the experts to go on about your other points as I still struggle to crystalize my thoughts on horology without coming across as a fool
As for annual calendars, MIH has one, the least complicated annual calendar I think and but as far as Pateks and Annual Calendars are concerned, to be they always equate the same when one or the other is mentioned. Some trivia, I read that Pateks Annual Cal has more parts than its Perpetuals.. go figure... not sure if this is still the case though.

Not a common complication (and I recall reading the Patek annual calender is actually as complex as the perpetual).
However this is at least one other around - the MIH watch.
