I jest..... Hats off to JLC--absolutely incredible timepiece. thanks for an amazing review!!!I am not fully in love with this Duo QL at first sight. I am dazzled by the technical features, the hacking feature and its brilliant execution, the perpetually running foudroyante, the equal balance of the moonphase and the time subdials, and the overall dial layout. I regret that there is a corrector for the moonphase somewhere between 11 and 12 o"clock. I a not a fan of such correctors in general, as I think they mar the case. The moonphase disk itself is not impressive. Thanks to Mostel, I am now spoiled by the sculptured VC moonphase. To be fair, let's see how the actual non-prototype version looks. I am also not in favor of the apertures. I would love to see a version of this watch without the two PR apertures even though, as Jerome and Nicolas rightly point out, there is in fact something to see through these apertures.
But this is a beautiful complicated watch to think about. I think the design and concept is very coherent and strong. As I mentioned above, I personally have some questions about the final execution, but they may be minor ones after thinkkng more about this watch.
In any case, it is an extraordinary realease by JLC and it is wonderful to see how the Duometre line unfolds.

i have to say that IMVHO you cant improve on perfection and the original Duometre Chronograph is and was perfect. it was superbly balanced to look at and intuitive to use in the few minutes i had to play with it. this new Duometre is very nice, but not as well balanced, harder to read and the 1/6th second dial is superfluous IMO. i'm sure its going to be an excellent seller, but the original looks the best.

Hi,
Thank you for your comments.
Yes we can consider that the Duometre a Quantieme Lunaire is an improvement from the Duometre a Chronographe in terms of precision.
In fact it is aimed at being an improvement on classical mechanical watches like a tourbillon, a constant force escapement, or a Fusee Chaine watch is.
Regarding the Duometre a Chronographe, the chronograph operation is supposed not to interfere with the precision of the watch, that's the principle of the watch.
Looked at from the logic of the Duometre a Quantieme Lunaire, the precision of the Duometre a Chronographe is altered not by the chronograph side of the watch, but by the time side!
Is it better than the Duometre a Chronographe, or is it the contrary? I don't know yet!
You were expecting it from Nico? OK but what were you expecting from me? J
Cheers
