Purchasing a Vintage Master Mariner or Powermatic/powerwind.Tips?

Hello From Australia,
I am new to this forum. I have a few vintage JLC’s and am looking at purchasing either a vintage LeCoultre Master Mariner-1969 cal K822 or a  vintage Le Coultre black dial Powermatic/Powerwind. Does anyone have any experience with either and any tips for things I should look out for?  I have Zaf Basha’s  book on JLC’s but he has nothing on the Master Mariner unfortunately. Finding good material on the late 1960’s Master Mariners has been difficult. The Calibre 822’s seem to have a good reputation as best I can see? Any help or information source on either watch would be greatly appreciated. 

By the way, what is the best vintage JLC forum/ information source? Thanks

Unfortunately since my last post i have been advised, in answer to a question to the seller, that the dial "may have been restored". At the very least, the "Swiss" at 6 PM appears to be missing from the dial. There may be other things that I am missing. It is disappointing as I do not usually purchase refinished or unoriginal watches. Anyway, here are photos of the dial and the movement. It is marked as a 14 karat gold case. It has a JL Crown. Converted from AUD$ asking price is US$1760. Serial number is for 1969(?) Hope this post has been done correctly.





Cal 882. That's why I didn't understand your post, as you stated Cal 822. Yes you did well, there are others which are better to grab. [nt]

My apologies for my poor typing. I should have checked it! I have just come across a 1944 triple date, that I am considering purchasing. The dial has been refinished, I am wondering if that is a reason not to purchase in your view? It is priced at AUD$9250.00. It is calibre 464/A and reference 2721, with an 18 carat gold case.
