Hi,
Not sure if talkinga bout casios and stuff like that is allowed, if not, please delete as appropriate.
I own a JLC MWG and a sub. While ideally I'd like to get a NSA, I'm not in a position to do so at the moment. For some reason, I have been interested in getting an all rubber weekend just for fun kind of watch which I wouldn't mind bashing around. Cheap and cheerful, can be quartz no problem (but still looking for cool functions) along the lines of a Suunto Core/Vector or a Casio pathfinder. Truth is, I've been having a hard time finding something that I like and was curious to see if some of you guys had any such watches worth mentioning. Might be nice to talk about the less glamorous watches that we have for a moment...
Cheers,
Carmelo
...if you're going for a Pathfinder, try a PAG40, lots of functions to play with, but not a huge as some of the later stuff.
Other suggestions,
Citizen Aqualand Duplex: analogue/digital display, depth gauge, temp gauge, alarms, stopwatch...
If you're after less functions, perhaps something like a CWC G10 (issued UK military watch)?

Thanks again.
Carmelo
Thank you for redirecting the post here. I'll put subsequent non-JLC posts here.
Do you have any of these mass-market watches that you wear?
Cheers,
Carmelo
...excellent concept, the touch face is better than pushing awkward buttons (some Casios almost make you break a finger) and the hands moving to display function is cool, but it does have a reputation for being a bit fragile. Not as trustworthy as a Pathfinder with similar capabilities.
but I have understood that these Hublot-watches are half rubber or plastic. I guess they speak about fusion... So perhaps Hublot.
Best, Kari
Hublots are very very nice. Plenty of great looking watches. Unfortunately, I'm not at the level where I can call a hublot a weekend just for fun watch yet
very expensive...
with so many versions with different looks, cool colors and functions, I'm sure you can find one that fits your criteria.
I like G-Shocks alot…as a matter of fact …I asked Santa for the G-Shock DW6900MS-1 this Christmas.
Good Luck
Drewloads of choices, good prices, if it falls apart at the end of the warranty you havent lost much, but in my experience they dont fall apart.
happy hunting
Graham

those are pretty cool. No doubt about them getting a lot of questions asked.
Where are those sold?

I'm thinking along these lines as well. There are a million choices in terms of casio G-shocks but hard to pick one you like. There are some very nice ones but also some outright monstrosities!
thanks for the recommendation.
