hi,
i'm interested to see if anyone has any knowledge of Jean Marcel watches re build quality etc. i've never heard of them, but having googled them all the write ups seem very positive. the name doesnt help as it sounds like a shopping channel brand
the reason is that i've found one of their models called the mystery which uses Vincent Calabreses wandering jump hour eta modified movement that he uses in the Annalogica, but at a far lower price.
what i've found so far is that they seem to make small production runs of their models, mainly 300. some are several thousand $'s whereas others are quite cheap.
from what i can gather from the googling, Vincent actually has/had some connection with the company which can only bode well. the watch in question really appeals to my 'unusual' tastes as its tonneau cased with a lovely blue dial, a rotating centre disc with jump hour, but the best bit is the enamelled or painted map of the world in the centre disc. i have an NHC on my wish list, already have more than enough money saved up for the MIH, so i see no reason not to get this instead of the NHC as it is essentially the same, but a lot cheaper.
the only negative points are that it is a 10 year old model albeit very lightly used and gold plated which is not something i would normally go for.
any info gratefully received.
cheers
Graham
the best piece in their catalogue.

Graham
The only thing that I find to be a little bothersome is the disk that marks seconds on my watch. The dial is a great design and has the clear disk riding out in front of it, obscuring some of the detail. By all means I would recommend the watch and would certainly purchase it again given the cost.
i loke the carbon fibre style dial. very smart.
enjoy it in good health
