Horological Meandering aka "HOME"

After a week of deliberation, the PuristSPro team decided on HOrological MEandering aka "HOME" as the new name for the General Watch Discussion forum.

Please give a huge congratulations to MarkS for his creative submission!

And finally, we want to thank everyone who took the time to submit entries.  And for those who are wondering, it was a very close call between the below 3 names:

I have never seen the word meandering before, so I consulted my dictionary to find out - yet I am not quite sure I understand the subtlety of the special semantic construction "Horological Meandering". I'd appreciate an enlightening explanation - many thanks in advance and apologies for my ignorance.

Meander derives from the name of a winding river.  In general, in English, it first means the winding path of any river or stream.

In English, at least American English, it is used figuratively, usually having to do with walking not aimlessly but indirectly,much more often than it is used literally.

Horological meandering would mean to wander about among horological subjects, not quite an exact use, but possibly within the bounds of figurative use.

It was the indirect use of the word I was looking for, and you gave me a good explanation, thanks. The word itself comes from the Turkish river Menderes, which in ancient Greek times was called Maiandros, and I knew the word maiander for a patterned ribbon.

I suppose you haven't logged in and that's what makes you anonymous.

...the E in meandering is a long E, sounding like the name of the letter.  if one were to employ this vowel sound in pronouncing HOME it would sound like 'HOMEY'.
