For a diver you may want to check strapcode, I have been very happy with their sharkmesh on my searambler. The machined clasp is a lot better than the typical stamped stuff. Sure for 100 bucks I had to adjust a few sharp edges myself but it's one of my favorite bracelets, even better than the doxa beads of rice because it wears much cooler in hot and humid weather.

Ones i had a watch of my brother with Milanese. I remember it as i hated it. But the watch was so nice, i wear the watch with Milanese. Hurt, but great looking.
