this post is really a big thank you to Maria and Richard Habring and also their UK dealer for being so helpful.

I have wanted a jump second foudoryante for a long time and am now in the position to buy one. the choice for me being the handwind as the rotor covers some of the jump second mechanism.

I have seen in several pictures a blue dialled model as well as their silver and bronze dials.

I contacted the dealer who contacted Maria about a blue dial. Maria initially said that the blue dial was a one off piece, but I had made my mind up. its blue dial or nothing.

the dealer approached Maria again who said yes they could make a blue dial, but for technical reasons there would be extra cost. the dealer contacted me about this and offered to swallow about 80% of the extra cost making my perfect Habring available and still affordable.

I've paid my deposit and will happily sit and wait until its ready which may well be early 2015.

you wont get that sort of customer service from Omega, JLC, Rolex or most other manufacturers.

Based on my experience, both Richard and Maria are a pleasure to deal with.  They seem to be up for a challenge if approached in an honest and genuine manner.  

i know other purists who have had great experiences with the Habrings and their watches are very fairly priced for an independent.
i would say i cant wait, but i will have too.

When I met both of them for the first time at my AD, they were so accommodating. They worked with me for over an hour. And they then went back home and worked up a rendering of our discussions. It was perfect and for a very fair price. I too chose the manual dead second foudryant. And I added an engraved balance cock. This watch combo is mesmerizing and I know you will love yours. The wait won't be that long. Looking forward to your pix of this blue dial!

for their customer service and flexibility which is lost when you are producing thousands of units.  I can understand why, pulling something off the production line to change it is not an easy task, but if you want a watch made with love, then an independent is the way to go.

Looking forward to seeing this one Graham... you certainly are on a great roll of new watches...

I am still amazed by the hours they spent working with me on my Habring, and the excellent directions they took the project. Just very good and kind people to work with. You'll be very pleased with your watch, I have no doubt.

i was lucky that i knew exactly what i wanted and told the dealer. it would have been a no sale without the blue dial so for him it was important and i think Richard and Maria enjoy doing things slightly differently although mine isnt really different its just one colour from one model on a different model.
