I love its simplicity but if it was even more simple by removing the chrono, which is on the back anyway and a bit pointless and thus making it a few mm slimmer, and have a working seconds sweep on the front I'd be first on the list..!!
Could they do both and raise even more money for the cause..??
Yours,
Andy.
...press the button above the crown once.
It's a great watch but, yes, the chrono is somewhat ineffectual and it does wear thick. All of that is forgotten and forgiven every time you gaze at that dial.
Cheers,
pplater.
utter simplicity and I'm surprised nobody else has picked up on the annual calendar mechanism with just 9 parts..!!
Andy.
You have the rare Southern Hemisphere edition: the single red dot is for 'pm' and the double red dot is for 'am' Your date change is working perfectly after all! ;-)
Cheers,
pplater
Greetings,
The seconds hand disengaged completely upon activation of the chronograph function on my MIH a few weeks after I took posession....sent it for repair and it seems to be working fine now.
Regards,
Mark
The day wheel also became misaligned and spent most of its time between days.
Embassy was kind enough to sort out all the transportation arrangements for me. Awaiting its return. Another issue is the second hand not reseting to 12. Didn't happened to mine but to a fellow collector who got it in the recent batch.
I wonder if this particular batch is tainted???
Like you, not upset at all and still love the watch.

It was very secure within the Fedex box and wrapped in bubble wrap. Who knows, maybe we got a couple of Friday Jobs.
My other hypothesis is that the 7750 is prone to date change problems when adjusting the date during the wrong time period. My Panerai 124 had an issue where the date got misaligned after I manually changed the date on the PM. Perhap, and this is a BIG UNDEDUCATED perhaps, the sensitivity of this date change carried over to the annual calender module.
Anyway, I have these pictures to keep me company until she gets back to me...

Can you recommend the best time of day to change date of a 7750-based watches to best avoid "user inflicted damage"?
Thanks,
Marc.
Thanks John,
I'm looking forward to one of these MIHs in November, and it is great to hear about others experiences (good and bad) on this forum.
Marc.
Sorry for the confusion: I appreciate your (plural) precision. Indeed I am more interested in MIH vs generic 7750 recommendations.
So I did a little searching and exerpted below from the "MIH book" on the watch website, interestingly does not mention favorable/unfavorable times:
Owner’s instructions
"The MIH Watch sports the tried and proven ETA-Valjoux calibre 7750 – an automatic movement whose 40-hour or so power reserve is full after just thirty turns of the crown. Apart from the pusher that controls the stopwatch function, the crown is the MIH Watch’s only operating element. The time is set as with any other mechanical watch: you pull the crown out two stops and turn it either way. If you have had to wind the watch because it has stopped, or you have travelled to a distant time zone, you must ensure that the AM-PM display is correct – it is located to the left of the day display and takes the form of one or two red dots. Setting the day/date is simplicity itself if done in the correct order: start by setting the correct day of the week by turning the hands (i.e. with the crown pulled out two stops, as explained above). Once the time, AM-PM setting and day of the week are in sync, you can move onto the month and date, as follows. Pull the crown out one stop and turn it clockwise until the correct date is showing (note that changing the time backwards (see above) will also reverse the date display). ..."
Marc.
half a minute before zero for mine . I heard its a pretty common problem amongst owners in Singapore .
I brought up the problem to Embassy and they told me to send them some pictures . I did exactly that but havent heard from them since and its been 2 months .

i know that the title is a huge mix of metaphors, but i really do hope that this is just a glitch in the last production run.
i've got one coming in November and not paid for it yet. should i be worried? or should i appreciate it for what it is, a superb rare timepiece with a conceptual background and therefore possible associated problems.
i must admit, i've never come across any of the problems that people are associating with the 7750, but i'm not a big chrono user despite having owned a lot of them in the past. you've got to use it for it to go wrong.
fingers crossed for getting a trouble free one.
dont worry Andy, you can come and dribble over mine while i drown your U1
interesting post
