New member of the family: Dornbluth Quintus 2010.REG
About a year and a half ago my wife and I had the pleasure of being invited to a dinner with Dirk Dornbluth, his wife and several good friends. One of the group was a big supporter of Dirk and his work. The evening was fun and my watch ADD kicked in. We started discussing a concept for a watch with Dirk’s movement.
An enamel dial with blue tracks and a red second hand.
No this is not a nod to July 4. It’s a fun watch and a new joy to behold.

Thanks Emmanuel. Putting on a regulator does require adjusting one's brain for a moment to be able to read the time but it is well worth the effort (not my first rodeo anyway).

A warm welcome from its bigger brother who happens to feature the first red second hand ever made by Dirk.
Actually it was my wife (you met us with Art her at Huntington Beach a few years ago) who suggested to have a red second hand on my Regulator. Shortly thereafter Dirk had adopted the idea and presented a black dial with red second hand.

Hi Martin. I remember the fun dinner at the restaurant in HB (have been back to it a number of times and it is still good).
I did not remember about your Dornblüth. Thank Beate for the idea of the red second hand. That was truly one of the highlights of the design.

I'm a sucker for a good enamel dial and a nice regulator. And, you have a little color with those blue tracks and red sweeping second hand. Both Elegant and Supercool. Don't let me forget to compliment that movement, too- WOW, with a generously sized balance wheel. This is what it's all about to me. Hats off, truly!
I agree one hundred percent. The picture doesn't do justice to the blue and red. I have other regulators but this one is just a breath of color that is a delight.
As far as the movement, it's been a while since I ordered the watch and I forgot how well done his Quintus 2010 is. The balance wheel is indeed large. I probably should post a better picture of the movement. Will work on it.
