Our first visit to the Habring atelier in VΓΆlkermarkt was a bit of a revelation in what distinguishes independent watch makers from the more conventional brands. We came to order some individual pieces (back in the day, when they were not filled with orders to over capacity this was easier) to commemorate our wedding anniversary as well as the years spent living in Austria and agreed this would be best done in person.
And while we have had the opportunity to see some of their watches previously at the Vienna Watch Fair and with their Viennese dealer, it was a premiere on the ground and they had watches to look at, to make our design choices somewhat easier.
My wife and me then decided on a short reflection time to consider and returned relatively quickly, not only with the ideas (which would subsequently get refined in the classical process) but also with the request to become owners a bit faster than what the process for our unique pieces would allow.
In short, we wanted a Felix that they had. It took a bit of discussion here and there before they agreed but when they did they also truly surprised us in saying we can take the watch with straight away π
Still thoroughly enjoying the perfect proportions, the thinness, the simplicity.
Any other Habring watches around this weekend?
