With a mirror polished inner case I like a strong pattern, deep graining, guilloche, etc that takes advantage of the mirror to virtually expand the dial. I don't love printing either, engraved hashes / numerals and / or applied indices. In a technical / modern style I love how ferdinand berthoud does laser engraved and filled chapter rings with numerals and/or slim sector designs and on the higher end model mixes a severe brushed aesthetic with anglage on the inner and outer circumferences or sapphire to "fly" over gaps in the chapter ring. Looking at your movement where the chapter ring is interrupted in some places that might be an interesting option so you can have continuity of a full chapter ring without obstructing any of the movement.

Simon Brette did a more subtle version with a frosted sapphire ring to more hint at what is underneath

In a more traditional style I like applied polished hour markers. This voutilainen mixes engraved hashes with applied polished hemispheres at the hours, slightly larger at 12/3/6/9, something I haven't seen before on other KVs and I really like how clean this is
Much more difficult to do for a one off would be something like the rings on the MB&F perpetual, print on lacquer or enamel so the numerals "float" over the chapter ring giving it depth
