It’s a top seconds complication - basically as there is no running seconds it shows you at a glance that the watch is running (the red dot revolves with a black one, in a bit of a heartbeat type of way. As the watch was primarily for my wife the dot has been replaced by a little heart in the indent in the 9 - the advantage of an independent being that they can pick up on individual wishes like this 😁

As there is no running seconds the pulsating red dot shows you at a glance that the watch is wound and running. In this case it’s a heart shaped hole instead of the standard dot, as it was primarily meant for my wife 😊
