It seems like it was meant to be, the right watch found you. 😉 Hope this is just the beginning of a long and rewarding experience! I just got a new dark gray strap and deployant for mine, think I found the perfect combo for me for another couple of years.

I love that red stich on your strap! Beautiful idea. You could have done the 11th as well. Still unsure on what kind of strap I should go for. Maybe a dark brown and a dark grey one.

Oooo, that's a great idea, next strap! It's funny, I recently visited a new GF AD and noted the loss of individual numbering on the watches, the sports watches are all "1 of XX" instead of individual numbering, and the sales manager who was just trained by GF had absolutely no idea what I was talking about. Explaining the red tick at 11 would have taken a couple of espressos and I would have felt like a huge nerd. The stainless S1 is definitely something from a different time, a different GF.


I resisted going with a grey strap all this time since it felt too on the nose to match the dial but actually it's awesome, I should have done it sooner. A deep brown / cognac was also in the running, don't think you'll go wrong with either. And yes, if you're ever in NYC let me know, I'll buy drinks somewhere discrete with good lighting for some wrist shots! 😜

And I agree with you, it seems GF is lowering some of their ambitions a bit under Calce. Let's see how this will play out over the coming years. They still have the capacity to surprise us big time!
By the way, could you do this strap at GF, or is it an OEM? It looks very well made.

I still love these older versions a lot . Not the biggest fan of there new lineup tbh

I jumped on the chance to get the S1 for this reason. Many of their previous watches were simply too chunky for my wrist (and esthetic preferences) and there actual collection leves me a bit cold. I will have to see them in the metal though to form a real opinion. But I love the under-the-radarness of the Signature 1 very much.

The (relatively) modest case size make it a perfect fit for me, and I love the simplicity of it. Plus the fact that it's stainless steel, which makes it pretty unique in this segment.
