HUGE congrats for picking up this spectacular Starry Varius π₯π. It is such a special and gorgeous piece β€οΈ.
As for allocation and so others know, I was with Pierre Jacques and Jorg Hysek Jr this past week and been with them a few times in the past few months (last time prior to the launch of the Starrry Seas). They assured me that allocation in the Euro zone was completely up to them while the US region was up to Watchbox since their HQ is in the US. Other territories such as the UAE was up to the Seddiqi group and Asia was also between Jorg and WB combined.
I know the allocation system and waitlists are frustrating but they seem to be doing a better job of getting these pieces onto the wrists of truly passionate collectors than the legacy brands such as AP, Patek, Rolex, etc...We see far less DeBethune models getting flipped than most anything else out there per production numbers, most likely since the secondary market has dropped for everyone.
I hope eventually it will get even better so truly passionate collectors of DB and other Indies will have a better chance of getting the pieces they really want without having to play these silly games.
I will see the DB team again shortly and there is an HOROLOGICAL RETREAT in Bali the end of the year with a select group of passionate collectors who will be going with their families for a nice vacation. Others Indies are also coming to join us which will be a great way for those in Asia to meet them without having to make the trip to Geneva. Maybe I should not have shared this info but you guys are my horological family so please keep it discreet πππ.
Again, HUGE congrats for adding this Starry Varius Christian, it is truly a BEAUTIFUL piece and great mix of classical beauty with modern innovation π₯
