Vacheron Constantin

After the launch last year of the limited edition Excellence Platine Malte Tourbillon Regulator, it is probably not a surprise that Vacheron Constantin would incorporate the basic design of that watch into a regular production model. Here is the original, with platinum dial and tourbillon bridge:

Well this Malte Regulateur Tourbillon is certainly a fine watch, but not very keen on it. I think it's too big.

I hoped maybe something more...discrete, IMHO.

This is a winner for me: Elegant design, and should I say withuot beeing bashed by Patek's guys, nicer than a 5970....Ouch,n not the head! LOLOLOL.
The size, too, 42mm, is ideal, and all the watch seems coherent for me.
The finish is perfect, or it does look perfect...
Well, I'm in love, I only hope to see one in the flesh, or in real pics, to make my mind.

I'm generally not a fan of regulators, but I do think this is really a handsome watch.  Now I just have to buy a winning lottery ticket. : )

If you really won the lottery would this be the first watch on your shopping list?

My sense from both private conversations and the reaction to Excellence Platine Tourbillon Regulator is that this watch will not be universally loved and admired.

Maybe it's just me, but when I look at my watch, I don't want to have to figure out what time it is. After all, it's a WATCH! Anyway, here's a Tourbillon Regulator that I recently picked up. It has a real dial showing the real time at a glance, and it also has the regulator function.  OK, it may not be a Vacheron, but it really is nicely done on all levels.

A beautiful watch, indeed!
