Hey folks. Finally i have found straps i wanted to purchase, however they come only in straight spring bar. I understand that the 1921 uses slightly curved bar. Any idea if strap with straight bar would fit? I have the 36.5mm version.

personally would only fit the original specification spring bars. They were specified for a reason.

On my side I was not able to so ending up ordering strap just for my VC…

But it depends on the thickness and texture of the strap.

Unless of course if i order custom made ones

I tried fitting some of my straight pins strap on it and it won’t work because the pins are too close to the case.  I suspect it is the same for yours.  Have your strap custom made by a strap artisans which can make them to accept curved pins

in my case even the straight pin alone (without a strap does not fit)

In strap changes while minimally scratching the lugs!

Me = newbie

1. Since I order all my strap customer made, I always order them with quick release pins which require no tool to change - easy enough!
2. When I do have a watch with a standard strap on it which I need to remove, I use the black strap tool (see picture).  Now this one saved me a lot of scratches because at first I had only bought a Bergeon tool in metal but its not the easiest to insert between the strap and the case when there are no cutting on the leather or a quick release pin;
3. To remove bracelet, I use the either a Bergeon clip (works perfectly on Rolexes) shown on the right picture or a third party clip that works better for bracelet like my GS;
4. On my new VC with curved pins, I have no quick release but the strap have some cutting to expose a small portion of the pins so I use the small Bergeon tool there
5. If your watch have some holes on the case to push the pin out, again be careful not to use a metal tool - your best friend here again is the black strap tool in the picture for me

I have been tempted to get curved pins and a curved thick strap for a Geophysic, which has a gap between the case and the strap even at the centre of the case, but so far remained cautious.

I think it is best to continue to use as intended by the manufacturer.

I was curious to i checked the VC and JLC holes, they are similar in terms of angle. Others may be different.

I have the other tools, not the black one. What is the name of it? It seems very helpful. I hate the metal Bergeron on my iwc or vc where the strap is very thick/ low compliance. I also have horotech screwdriver makes link removal easy!
I also don't get why every strap doesn't come oem with quick release or those cut outs for easy removal 🤷‍♂️
