Today is a special day, this day I’ve turned 60 for real. It’s not a big step as I’ve seen it coming for quit some time haha
Tonight celebrating with my wife and kids, tomorrow night with friends and other family.
Weather is gorgeous dry sunny and approx 25 degrees

The midnight blue pinstripe 3pcs suit is the most formal of the business selection. But for a Black Tie event it would not be appropriate.
I actually like that pinstripe myself for business office. Did you know that the pinstripe was originally a 'sporty' variant of the lounge suit?
And for myself I actually look in some further details also like cloth (manufacturer, weight), cut, finish (working cuffs, horn or corozo buttons, Bemberg lining, handmade button holes etc.). And moreover shoes, tie, shirt etc.. hehehe...

I use this for the more important business meetings or if we, like last week, have a family dinner in a Michelin star restaurant.
The material is that ultra fine cloth, inner lining seems silk,
It’s made by Dunhill.
For black tie events I’ve got a Valentino black tie suit with high gloss black shoes. That’s about the only suit I wear without a watch.

You could use a pocket watch or alternatively a wrist watch in white metal time only (no seconds, no date, no complication).
In former times (1920-30's) they also use heavily diamond/ruby/saphire encrusted watches and dress set's.

I had just initiated a search for a proper vintage pocket watch.

I’ll share a true story anecdote with your:
when my wife turned 40, I was in France and couldn’t attend. So I arranged that her sisters plus some friends of hers picked her up from home, took her to a fancy restaurant for lunch.
I mean time I drove from Paris to my home town, waited in the kitchen of the restaurant and changed into a chefs uniform. When it was time for desert, I walked in holding a silver platter and on the platter a small box.
Turned to her and said: “may I serve desert madam?” And put the box in front of her.
Inside was a gold ring with 40 diamonds total 4 carat.
Had a glass of champagne with her and the guests, kissed her goodbuy, drove back to Paris (like a mad man) and was back in Paris just in time for dinner which I had to attend.
An afternoon we now, 17 years later, still have great memories to.
And trust me, my wife is not short in sparkles and jewels.
